Craps Terms to Know
Come: This allows you to bet the Pass Line any time after the shooter's point
is established. You take the next number rolled as your point. After that,
wins and losses are determined on the same basis as a Pass Line bet.
Don't Come: The reverse of Come. You're betting 7 will come up before the
shooters point.
Field: This is a one roll bet that can be made anytime. If a 3,4,9,10,or 11
is rolled, you win even money. If a 2 or 12 is rolled, you're paid double.
Any 7: This is a one roll bet that can be made anytime. When 7 comes up on
the next roll of the dice, you win 5 for 1.
Any Craps: This is a one roll bet that can be made anytime. You win on 2,3,or
12 and are paid 8 for 1.
Hard Ways: There are four hard way combinations: hard four (two 2's), hard 6
(two 3's), hard eight (two 4's), and hard ten (two 5's). Example: If you bet
on hard 6, you win if a pair or 3's comes up before a 7 pr before an easy 6
(5 &1, or 4 &2). Remember, hard 6 and hard eight pay 10 for 1, hard four and
hard ten pay 8 for 1.
Horn Bet: A one roll bet that can be made anytime. You bet on a combination
of these four numbers: 2,3,11, and 12. If any of these numbers come up on
that roll, you win. 3 and 11 pay 15 for 1, and 2 and 12 pay 30 for 1.
Buy Bets: You can bet on 4,10,5,9,6, and 8 and get actual odds in exchange
for a 5% charge on the amount you bet. You win when the number is rolled
before a 7 after come out roll.
Lay Bets: They are opposite of Buy Bets, and the 5% charge is on the amount
you could win, not on the amount you bet.
Place Bets: These are bets on 4,10,5,9,6,and 8. You win when your number is
rolled before a 7 after the come out roll. 410 pays 9 to 5. 59 pays 7 to 5.
